Since we're not coming home anytime soon. . .

Beginning May 16th with Josh and ending August 17th with Mia, the Houser's are again on the odd numbers--9, 7, 5, and 3. Aaaahh! Our baby is 3. And we have a nine year old! Double Aaaahh!

Just this week we've had life-changing news: we are not moving to Grand Junction, CO, home of the best I-70 rest rooms on the west side of the Rockies. No, there will not be a Mike the Headless Chicken festival for us. Dreams of living in Fruita, CO were shattered with the news that funding for Zach's job at the Marillac Clinic, a wonderful non-profit health clinic, is now, well, un-funded. Darn recession. They were kind to let us know before we severed ties with the USAF, and invited us to check back in a year and keep in touch. Um, we'll have to think about that. So for now, we are scrambling to come up with something. We have a few leads. But something pretty good will have to come along to convince us to exit the Air Force. We're enjoying life and the experience of living in Japan. And now, since it appears we won't be coming "home" anytime soon, here is a blog for family and friends to see. I can't believe I'm actually breaking down and doing a blog. This means I must be resigned to what seems to be our lot in life to be far. far. far. away. For a long time. We do know, though, that we will be moving stateside in July 2010, most likely somewhere in the eastern US. Unless a miracle happens.
